StockX: NBA All Star Weekend Chicago
Connect Chicago’s biggest creatives and charities through the love of basketball.
OBJECTIVE
StockX was looking for a way to connect with the Chicago community and wanted to do more than just throw a party—they wanted to connect with the city and its people on a deeper level.
IDEA
Partner with Don C and Common Ground Foundation to create an experience centered around custom apparel collaborations with artists Union LA, Hebru Brantley, Melody Ehsani, Vic Mensa, Awake NY, and Easy Otabor. The pieces created were to be displayed and then auctioned off with proceeds going to Chicago's own Common Ground Foundation.
EXECUTION
In partnership with DBA partners, we produced a four day pop up that included custom apparel collaborations. Each collaborative product was limited and exclusively available to win via a $10 donation placed through the StockX app from February 10 to February 16, 2020. In addition, seven lucky winners received a custom RIMOWA luggage case created by each collaborator, pre-packed with all the exclusive pieces and a pair of the Air Force 1 High Just Don All-Star Blues.
To highlight all the sneaker drops happening over the weekend, StockX created a “Drop-off” inside the activation that allowed people to send off recently flipped shoes.
OUTCOME
The result was over $26,000 in net proceeds going to Chicago’s Common Ground Foundation, In addition, 256 people in attendance for the launch event with and additional 1,000+ coming through the space over the weekend to view the activation and access the Drop-off area. The weekend was rounded out with special guest DJ sets, interviews with Chicago's brightest stars, and daily live broadcasts from Dash Studios LA.
